Should ideally be added for all versions. If not possible, then we should just quit with a msg saying that simulate is not supported.

Add simulate support (see drupal_op()).

Also, I did not get any logging as I ran each update function even though I was at verbose=2.

A "All update functions executed" message at the end would be nice as well. I just got 'An error occurred at function : core_updatedb" (i had some SQL failures)

I think that only the functions which have no updates show in the logs ... I added the 'Finished running updates' message at the end.
