Issue Summary
is there a list of CRM's that have shown some success? are there any examples anywhere? I assume sugarCRM is on the list of possible working solutions. any more?

Is it also working with civicrm?

CiviCRM is integrated, although I have not tested it myself. That part was done by Trellon back when this was first created. If you can give it a try and let me know how it works, I'd appreciate that. SugarCRM would need to have another module written integrating it with the API's hooks. You can see one example of this in the CRMNGP module which hooks CRMAPI in our database product via an XML API.
