No one will give you full details about a very specific way you want all implemented. There are dozens a ways you can do a newspaper site, or any site. You should do a lot of reading. The documentation it's a good start.

You should check out the drupal newspapers group:

http://groups.drupal.org/newspapers-on-drupal

There are some links on the landing page on that link above. Very useful info.

Hi there!

I'd like to ask similar but more precise question.

For example posibility to promote an article from some subject to a specyfic box on front page (e.g. I have 3 boxes and to each one I want to promote different new articles). Is this easy? Do I need to write my own code or just use some special module?
Or If I want to promote a random article? Or an article of type that single user likes? I imagine to have some divisions (menu that directs to each one) that contains different news types and want to have ability to veeery flexible managing of that content (e.g. basing on cookies to display different content to different readers).

What about dynamic menu? E.g. I'd like to have menu that may (besides the standard static names) show numbers of not read articles from last day/month/ever? So it should change dynamicly when a reader open an article... How to do this?

Forum with topics promotion? With five stars in each answer/reply? Is posible? To link a selected answer/topic to some other/non-forum page?

Another thing is to give special permission to CMS users: to enable some to just have ability to write and other to publish content i some pages. Or more specificly: to give them ability to publish just to specific divisions/pages which they care about?

Regards.
new drupal user

One more thing... To create subhome pages that have different look in the mean of theme... For example someone clicks culture division and the site look changes completly in some else theme/graphics.

Check out OpenPublish at http://www.opensourceopenminds.com/openpublish -- it's built on Drupal.

Thanks! I'm looking on it :-)
However I'm new and want to build a news site till the end of August.
I'm sure mostly additional modules will satisfy me. However some specific options may be hardly to find.
Now I've found that I'd like to have options for user:
- editor - that can only write text and improve it when necessery (without permission to publish it). Editor should allow one other person (a publisher) to read, accept (or not) and publish.
- publisher that can only read and publish and give some tips for editor to improve text.

Thist splitted jobs could make more clean page and force to cooperate people to create better text.
