URL Alias for Pagination

Have been looking at the Clean Pagination module which looks to do what I want but module is not upto date (not for Drupal 6).

I would like to have clean urls for pagination on my site

i.e. not

category?page=2

but

category/page/2

I cant find any module for it, wondering if anyone knew of a fix I could apply.
