I am going to be making a trading / exchange website where users can swap, sell, buy and trade items.

I came across this website http://www.readitswapit.co.uk

Could Drupal do something like this?

Drupal could do something like this. Everything that I see without registering should be pretty easily possible out of the box.

The logic for swapping and making addresses available once people have agreed to swap etc. may require some custom coding (i.e. a module you could put together).
