Taxonomy blocks broken - not saving blocks correctly

hello
i currently have 9 categories, 8 of which have taxonomy blocks assigned to them.
i have added a 10th category, and have tried to assign a taxonomy block to it.
however when i look at the blocks the new taxonomy block title doesnt contain the category name, so it looks like this:
Taxonomy Block:
instead of
Taxonomy Block: Category Name
and whatever has caused this appears to render this block useless.
could it be something to do with the category vid having double figures (ie 10 not 9)?
hmm im completely stumped as to what's up!
can anyone help please?
