When editing a sort order field, the return page is gobblygooked. The change seems to be accepted (after going back into view again), but the gobblygook doesn't go away until after secure pages is turned off.

Does not quite seem the same as http://drupal.org/node/243519

actually, i did some testing. It does not seem to be the fault of secure pages. I have another Drupal site that I made 100% https (so no need for secure pages) and the same problem occurred. I will have to post this problem on the views module issues.....
