I'm setting up permissions for the role "board" and I need them to be able to edit pages. I've gone down the list and checked and unchecked everything that makes sense but I still don't get that option when logged in with under that role. I have EVERY thing under Node Module checked. What am I missing here?
Thanks,
Sheila

go to administer -> post settings
is there a button to rebuild permissions?
Nope
Thanks for responding. NO... when logged in as admin... under Administer > Content Mgt > Post Settings I do not have a rebuild option. I only have number, length and preview. Am I looking in the wrong place?

That is the correct place. So we know now it isn't a permissions table issue.
checking off the correct permissions is all that needs to be done. That said, on my drupal 6.10 installs to allow users to edit content they are given the edit content type permissions (where content type is the content types I want them to edit).
please take a screencapture of your entire permissions screen and link to it here.
permissions screen capture
Thanks for taking a look at this. It's the Board permissions that I'm after. And I know it's odd we're not using authenticated users at all right now. We may down the line. Here's a link to the screen capture:

as a test, issue the authenticated user role edit permissions and check board
I went into the node module
I went into the node module section and checked all that section for authenticated user. Then logged in as Board and still cannot edit.

I'm about out of ideas.
I'd start looking for a module conflict I'd guess and disable modules one at a time.
what is the exact version of drupal is in use?
6.10
I'm using 6.10 and all modules are up to date. I appreciate you taking time. Too bad it's not something simple like a missed check mark. Maybe someone else will have an idea?!

my guess is that because this works on my site, you are using a module that is conflicting somehow.
To test , set up a test site without modules and test the test install.
Having the same problem
I'm using Drupal 5.6 and am having the same problem. I followed the advice above - also with no luck. My user is only locked out of editing existing pages. All current pages were created by the Admin account. However, she can create new pages, and update those. I'll keep plugging away at it, and let you know if I make any breakthrough.
