After looking in the issue queue I am wondering if this module is ready/suitable for a relative beginner admin to use on a live community site. My main worry is that the existing issues may confuse/irritate our users.
Is this what's being used on drupal.org?
Thanks for the module.

netaustin commentedYes, this module is being used on drupal.org. It's currently under active development, but the (brand new) Alpha4 release is considerably more stable.

dwwalpha5 is even more stable. It's still technically an alpha, but I think we're getting pretty close to being able to move to a more official release (beta or rc). alpha5 is now running on d.o and there (so far) haven't been any new problems reported since we fixed #379470: Change in the issue description is discarded after clicking on the attach button and #377460: AHAH enhanced comment_upload_js works for 1 attachment.

heine commentedNo. You should only use dev, alpha, beta and rc releases on tests sites, or _if you really know what you are doing_.
