Issue Summary
I upgraded yesterday to 1.6 and lost about 15% of my images. The images are still in the folder that I created for them and they are still in the database in the term image table.
The only common issue that I can see is from examining the table in phpmyadmin is that the missing images all have a space in the file name. (I know I don't always control what a user puts in though and it wasn't causing an issue earlier.)
Any thoughts?

Just wanted to bump this and share that I experienced the same issue. Images with a space in the file name are being saved to both the file system and the database, but aren't being rendered on the taxonomy term edit page.

Same problem, but in my filenames are no spaces, but I use private file download.
