views_embed_view() + Imagecache rendering not working together

When I embed a view that has a field output that is an imagecahe preset it causes Apache errors.

The views render fine outside of views_embed_view(), and also views without imagecache fields render fine in views_embed_view().

This is using Imagecache 6.x-2.0-beta9 and ImageAPI 6.x -1.6 and GD2 6.x-1.6
