I have created a view and set it to display in a block. I have an exposed filter so the user can filter based on one of the content fields. In the preview in views admin my exposed filter is functional but on the actual page where my block appears the filter is not visible.

Anyone know what's going on?

I ran into same problem. The exposed filter doesn't work in block for some reason. On the view panel page there is an option 'exposed form in block'. Try that. I am not sure whether it has to do anything with that. If you find any solid solution please post it here...
