I have had an issue with profile updates where a user will receive a message that "the Name is being used as the {sitename} guest name" and changes will not be saved. This issue, and a workaround were reported at http://drupal.org/node/360286

Unfortunately, the workaround hasn't worked for me--has this issue been reported as a bug yet?
