I really like the way it is possible to use tokens to generate good keywords. Personally I think it would be nice if that could be done directly for the content type. The it would also be possible to properly filter the token list to only those available for that node.

Not sure I understand? This module just adds meta tags based on the path rules you set. It isn't going to know what content type(s) are on that page until it comes time to render the page.

I can only assume that you mean you want to add tokens to the meta tags on a specific node - that would need to be changed in the base Meta Tags module
