DHTML Menus not showing up for newbie...
jason.weaver - April 23, 2009 - 20:01
Hello everyone,
I have installed MAMP and Drupal 6.10 on my Mac, and I have started exploring modules as I read through Packt's Building Powerful and Robust Websites with Drupal 6.
The first module that the book has you download is DHTML menus. I downloaded it and put it's folder in the sites/all/modules, as it suggested. I then turned it on under modules, ran the cron, and did an update -- but it does not show up anywhere in the Blocks menu.
Does anyone have any idea what I have done wrong?
Thank you in advance for your help!
Jason

The DHTML module just allows
The DHTML Menu module just allows you to browse through the Navigation menu without the page reloading everytime you click on a link.
If you are looking to create a menu item, go to Administer > Menus > Primary Links and add an item there.
Ollie.
I know it is merely for
I know it is merely for navigation, but according to the text DHTML is suppose to show up in the Blocks section in three forms --
DHTML: Navigation
DHTML: Primary Links
DHTML" Secondary Links

Same here...
I'm having the same issue (also a newbie using same book but with a PC). I downloaded the correct version properly, installed it in the right folder, selected to enable it but I'm not getting verification that it worked (which it doesn't).
Newbie here, I'm also using
Newbie here, I'm also using that book, and encountered the same problem as you guys did. I'm using the 6.11 install. After a bit of poking around, I went to 'Site Building > DHTML Menu', and it seems as if once you install the module, it automatically enables itself on all menus. You've got the option to turn it off for specific menus. I don't know if the module is ACTUALLY working, but I imagine it's doing it's job.
interesting...
Yes, I see what you mean. Thanks!
So you go here: http://localhost/drupal/admin/settings/dhtml_menu ...and then what?
As you say, you're not absolutely sure its doing its job. I mean, we all don't seem to see the same "disabled DHTML" items that are on the screenshot on page 65.
one last thing
I've moved on. It looks like the DHTML module just works. Mercer probably needs to know the change for updates to the chapter...
