I have already added the French Translation last year - how do I upgrade to 6.x-1.0? Is there a way I can add the language pack again or do I have to import all the .po files individually?

Hi,

Not sure about your question: it sems you are looking for a way to contribute an updated translation:
- if your translation pertains to core, as opposed to a specific contrib module, you should probably register on the french community site at http://drupalfr.org and use the translation server to suggest your updates.
- if your translation is for a specific contrib module, just post it to the issue queue for that module and the maintainer will likely update it once he checks it.

No - sorry, I am not looking to contribute.

I added the French Translation pack to my Drupal site last year. I noticed there's a new release of the French Translation Pack (6.x-1.0) and am trying to work out how best to upgrade to it.

Guess I just copy and replace everything via ftp...

Impossible, it can't work that way.

I'm looking exactly what you're tried to do.We can update only .po files with /admin/build/translate/import. But how to update the whole french translation??

You can use http://drupal.org/project/l10n_client to reimport - but not sure how exactly.

Oh ok, cool, looks great!

"A translation package reimport tool, which helps people upgrading from Drupal 5 and those upgrading their translation packages anytime onwards, to import new and changed translations."

It's waht we need!

Didn't know this module, going to test it tonight :)

Thanks!

You can reimport package languale here: /admin/build/translate/import/package :)

You can't transfer those files, but you can download the new version if they have one.

Just checked these options. The Localization Client module seems to be re-purposed and the link mentioned in #8 does not exist in Drupal 6.15.

The only option is to import individual .po files, which is a PITA for packages like Ubercart, and anyway, what happens to the *old* translations? Are they removed automatically, or do they clutter up the database forever?

What if I want to *remove* a translation for the module but not the entire language?

Can't find any decent support for this. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places...
