Need to update event after someone has registered

Description
I inherit a drupal site which has the following event-related modules. Sometimes, we need to update the events data such as description or dates. You will get the following error message even if the start time is unchanged. What takes to make the registered events still editable?
"You cannot change the start time, participants are already registered for this event."
