Hi all,

I would like to put a reg. form on my website on which users can fill in their details, submit it and finally see the result in an sort of table overview.

I have been playing with webform but although you can easily design a form it is not easy to display the results within drupal. To see the results you have to click the analyze options which is not what I want.

What I basically want is a table overview from left to right, name, age, etc with options for filtering. It should be in such a way that other users can easily see who is in for an event.

Then I start playing with CCK but figured out that you always have to start with 'create new content' which is not obvious for noob users.

So is there a way in which I can easily set a reg. form like I can with webform and then somehow publish the results that are being saved in the DB's in an filtered easy way to the users?

I would use CCK and create a content type, just provide a custom link instead of replying on the one under create new content.

That way you can use views to build a sortable/filterable table.

Thanks for the tip but I found out another problem regarding your solution.

I can of course put a direct link to the creation of my special reg. form. This however, will mean that there is a title and menu setting which I both dont want to appear. This makes it confusing again for people.

And since you make a node with cck it seems that the title is obligatory. Are there any soltions to this?

See Automatic Nodetitles for the title question. Unless you have granted people access to the menu setting they should not see that (try logging in as someone other than user 1).

...have been playing for ours now but found out that CCK is probably not the way to go.

In order to use my new content type, users always see 'create (new content type)' which I dont want.
In addition they will not get a reply when filled in the form, they just push submit and thats it.
When there are easy solutions to the above problems please let me know...

Then I looked at signup which is appareantly not able to design flexibel such as the webform module with all kind of new fields.

And then webform does exactly what I need apart from the fact that I am unable to use views with this module.... I want to publish all the singups on my website in a user friendly way and of course I would like to have control over the fields that I make visible.
Views and webform do not go together it would otherwise have been the perfect module.

So I am lost know, does anybody know I kan easily (without coding) set up a form that can be filled in and then gives me the ability to present the results online? Of course the standard options like sending an email to the registar upon succeful registering should be present.

You can always hide the create content link and use your own.

You can use the rules module to send the person email when they create content of a particular type.

"You can always hide the create content link and use your own."
As soon as you visit the page on which you can add new content it will show a title like "create (whatever you want to create)". So indeed I am able to customize the link but then people still see the title which states... "Create (example type)". This is confusing for some users and I dont like to see it as well. For example, when you want to give your user the option of register for a free house. Sure you will be able to create a custom link but once visitors click it they wont see...."register for a free house" they will see "create register for a free house" Try it out and you will see what I mean.

Your second tip might do the trick. Will have a look at it.

Thanks for helping me out btw!

use event + signup
or webform module
