When using Node Hierarchy and NAT, you need to select both the node parent and the taxonomy parent for both module to stay in sync.
Can we have a way to expose the parent determination process for NAT?
Attached is a diff I just whipped up that seems to work. Not sure if it's the way you'd want to do it or the proper way.

derjochenmeyer commentedIs this working with Node Hierarchy 6.x-1.x or 6.x-2.x?

arlinsandbulte commentedI am going to mark this as "won't fix" because, IMO, it is redundant with the taxonomy system and not really applicable here.
If you feel otherwise, go ahead and re-open, but give a strong argument for this feature request.
