I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I install the Sitemap.XML module which looks like it's working okay.... from inside the admin on Drupal. But I don't think it's working right.

When I looked that the XML sitemap file it creates in sites/default/file/sitemaps is not current. I've got about 45 pages on the site right now and it only shows 2 pages. In other web sites I've worked on there was a listing for each page created. When I add a page there's no change in this file.

I also setup accounts with Google, Yahoo, and Live (The MS site) as specified. And added that information into each appropriate area. But my site is still not coming up in any of these search engines.

Maybe I'm not being patient enough and I did something in the interum. I created another sitemap.xml file and placed it in the root folder. Then pointed Google and Yahoo to it. But the real PIA is that I have to redo it every time I want to add a page/image/story.... or whatever.

Maybe I'm missing something here. Or I'm being way too impatient. When I've launched other simple HTML/Java Script web sites they would show up in a matter of a day or two in these search engines. But they are there after I guess almost a week now. It may be a shorter time but it seems like it's not working.

I do get an error when it tries to upload the new sitemap to Yahoo.... here's the error I get.

Error occurred submitting RSS feed to Yahoo!: 400: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> The following errors were detected: invalid value: appid

I also get this error showing in the reports for the URL list. Which I thought was also being created automatically.

Anyway.. I've been looking through the forums and haven't run across the right answer yet. If you know of forum listing that covers some of these issues please pass it on to me.... or if you have an idea where I've screwed up that would also be tremendously helpful. Thanks for your help and time.

I should also mention... this is my first site build using Drupal. So far I'm really impressed and look forward to learning more....

Thanks....Jeffrey

Have you looked at the XML sitemap project issue queue? You will probably find your answer there. The module is being actively developed to suite D6
