We are looking for an experienced Drupal Developer with mastery of PHP, HTML, & CSS to work with an internationally renowned media sexologist and institute director, recently featured on Nightline, as well as on HBO, Playboy and other outlets. You will be helping to manage & update our web properties.
In exchange for your part-time work, we will give you room and board in the Institute’s fabulous spacious loft, including your own private room, DSL, phone, maid service, tech support, bar and kitchen access, some gourmet home-cooked meals, recording studio, erotic art gallery, awesome eclectic ambiance, 17,000 square feet of space to work and play in (basically, $2000/month of room, board & amenities) with an exciting, vibrant, socialist-style, capitalist-oriented community of artists, technologists and sex therapists.
If you are someone who really likes to look under the hood and see how things work, if you can comfortably work on several different systems and environments with no trouble switching between them, and if you learn quickly and work well independently, and if there is a special place in your heart for Drupal-run websites, then this could be the ultimate downtown LA job for you. An ideal living situation for a serious web engineer doing freelance development.
This is a Sr. Web Development position, please no end-users, SEO experts, or social media marketing people. (Although all of those things are great, we're really looking for a hardcore nerd who can dive in and help us with a variety of challenges and businesses.) We run several websites in various technologies including a full site with 8,000+ pages in static HTML, a social network in PHP on Linux built in Joomla, 2 live sites and 4 in development in PHP built in Drupal, and several others either planned or living in their own little ecosystems.
Required Skills
* Experience working with Drupal
* Mastery of HTML/CSS - Must be able to write by hand.
* At least Intermediate knowledge of PHP, 1-2 years experience.
* Photoshop - Must be able to manipulate & create graphics, but you do not need to be an artist or designer.
* Familiarity with LAMP environments (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP)
Desired Skills
* Experience working with other CMSes such as Joomla - Writing custom modules or contributing to the community is a big plus.
* Comfortable on a Linux command line via SSH
* Flash - Experience with FMS or flash video player concepts a big plus.

Just a note to others: Some of the above links are NSFW(Not Safe For Work) specifically bloggamy.com . Sara, would you mind putting some sort of note/warning in the post? I would consider some of content there to be definitely 18+. There might be those who are reading the post in a environment where viewing such material is inappropriate or might be offended by such content. And although the sex therapist is mentioned clearly in the post there remains the possibility of unsuspecting users(I'm specifically concerned about minors, I know Drupal community members who are as young as 14) who skip through the post and head directly to the links.
