I was informed that there was an update to XML Sitemap, which i immediately downloaded and ran the update script. I assumed that the sitemap.xml was working, as it had been working in a previous 6.x-1.x-dev release. However i checked my Google Webmaster which reported:

Your Sitemap does not contain any URLs. Please validate and resubmit your Sitemap

I also tried a fresh install after uninstalling/deleting xmlsitemap directories and databases. Again i got the same result.

The problem seems to have been resolved in the latest update.
