Have installed RC2 and when trying to run the update script the system just hangs on update 2 of 3 updating uc_orders.

Is this a problem or is it updating individual orders there are about 2000 on our system and this is why it is timing out.

Oh, I bet it's because the query keeps going over orders it's already processed.

Try this patch and run update 6008 again. It's OK if 6009 runs again after it.

I guess I'd better roll out rc3 before too many people run into this problem.
