I want a rotor block display three banners simultaneausly, and rotate to the next three images.
Is this possible, and if so, can anyone explain how to do this? (Detailed please, I expect this to be done with Views, and I'm new to this.)
Many thanks

mrfelton commentedI have updated the documentation today: http://www.kirkdesigns.co.uk/docs/drupal-rotor-banner-module. Hopefully this should cover everything, but if you still have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Vogelpesto commentedHi there mrfelton,
thank you for your reply and, not to forget, your great contribution to Drupal.
I followed the link to your new documentation but was not able to find a solution there. You do mention that
I think I will look in the Views documentation to find an answer. I will report it back here in case someone else is interested too.
Cheers!

mrfelton commentedOK, what I would do is:
Create a new content type called 'Custom rotor' (using cck module)
Give your new content type 3 image fields (using imagefield module)
Create a few 'Custom Rotor' items (now you can attach 3 images to each one)
Create a new view out of your Custom Rotor nodes (set Filter to Node: Type = 'Custom Rotor', Node: Published = 'true')
Set the Display Style of the view to 'Rotor'
Set the Row style of the view to 'Fields'
Include your 3 imagefields in the view (in the Fields section, select 'Content : name_of_image_field')
Let me know how it goes... if it works I'll add this to the documentation.

Vogelpesto commentedHowdy mrfelton,
Thanks for your suggestion. I will report back as soon as I have tested your suggested solution. (Not much luck with the Views documentation yet...)

mswaringen commentedI can confirm that most of mrfelton's instructions works, however I could only make one image field show up, so heres what I did:
Once I set up the 'custom rotor' view, I chose "block" and click Add Display to create 2 additional blocks within 'custom rotor'.
Next I created a content type for each block I made. I gave the content type one image field.
Then I went back to 'custom rotor' in Views and edited Filters>Node Type and selected the new content type for each block
Now I have 3 new content types that correspond to 3 blocks within 'custom rotor'
Next I created new content, 2 of each new content type, for a total of 6 images.
Each image is now assigned to 1 of 3 blocks and will rotate in pairs.
I did it this way so that there will only be one instance of an image at a given time. In theory you could create just one content type and have multiple blocks pull from that pool of images. I also have Global:random as my Sort Criteria
An example of this can be found here: http://shootag.com/
Mrfelton, hopefully you can add the information in this thread to the Rotor module documentation. It took me awhile to figure all of this out and I'm sure other people would love to know this information.
Thank you for a great module, it does exactly what I needed it to do.
