Linking terms to anchor locations - suggestions?

I'm trying to build a large and complex Drupal structure, the content of which would be viewed online and also sent to typesetters for print output.

One of the print requirements is an index. This could in theory be handled with Taxonomy, but in addition to linking from a term to a node, the editors would want to be able to link to an anchor within the node's body text. I haven't been able to find anything yet which could do this, although http://drupal.org/project/inlinetags looks as if it's not too far off.

Does anyone have other suggestions?
