aron novakFeedAPI gives a correct explanation on node/add/feed in this case.
Because each of these modules are loosely connected, FeedAPI Node does is job when creates the content-type with the enabled processor. If the user does not want to use the core parsers, it's still helpful to have a half-baked content-type.
