This is a behaviour most forums use (e.g. vbulletin).
It notifies a user only about the first comment being made. After that it stops notifying until the user has visited that node again (which makes sure he is up to date).
Example: I create an event and want to be notified about new comments. I'm at work all day (and night) and when i return i got 10+ emails, all telling that there is something (a new comment) going on at my event. One Notify would have been enough.
Sure the wording of the email being sent has to be modified, but this is configurable and should be ok.
It would be nice to see that feature in future, maybe configurable in settings.
It's that little more smarter. :-)
