Hi,

There are many possible explanations for such an error.

Usually I have seen this error immediately after clicking on the PayPal Button (before the prompt to enter my PayPal login to pay) and in many of these cases, there is an invalid or missing option in my product feature settings for the PayPal Button.

Can you post the settings you are using for the PayPal Buttons product feature? Or can you catch the URL after clicking on the PayPal Button that looks like this:

https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick&item_name=PayPal+Buy+Now+test&item_number=BUYNOW-TEST-1&quantity=1&invoice=10&amount=10&shipping=&handling=1.00&tax=&weight=0&weight_unit=lbs&...

I am also having this problem. I am using 6.x-1.0. I am taken to the PayPal sandbox site - the url is below. After I login with my test account, it give me the link is invalid error. I'm using the role assignment feature in addition to the paypal button for this product. My subscription settings are:

The url is:

https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick-subscriptions&item_name=Community+of+Practice+Membership+%28Monthly%29&item_number=membership-basic-monthly&quantity=1&invoice=5-SUBSCRIPTION&a3=20.00&p3=1&t3=M&src=1&retry=1&return=http%3A%2F%2Fdev.holacracy.org&cancel_return=http%3A%2F%2Fdev.holacracy.org&no_note=1&no_shipping=1&currency_code=USD&business=development%40holacracyone.com&notify_url=http%3A%2F%2Fdev.holacracy.org%2Fuc_paypal_buttons_ipn%2F5-SUBSCRIPTION&cbt=Return+to+HolacracyOne

Can you tell if I'm using the incorrect configuration?

Thanks a bunch!

Ok, the issue for me had to do with my usage of the sandbox site. It was pretty stupid actually. For other silly folks like me, to ensure that settings are correct with the PayPal sandbox site:

Make sure that your PayPal Website Payments Standard PayPal e-mail address (in admin/store/settings/payment/edit/methods) uses an e-mail address that you set up as a test account, not the e-mail you used to access the sandbox site itself.

Setting this up incorrectly seems to be what gave me the incorrect link issue - I was not actually sending the user to the test business account.

Sorry! Fabulous module, by the way!

Hi abowers,

When I go to the URL you provided (https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/...) and login with my PayPal developer account, I am taken to a page to complete my purchase as expected (see the attached screenshot). Are you unable to get to this page?

If you've not been able to get here, are you using a PayPal sandbox account for your merchant PayPal address? It looks like you're using development@holacracyone.com as the merchant account, but this doesn't look like a typical sandbox merchant account. Have you registered for a PayPal developer account and set up a sandbox merchant account? Normal PayPal accounts should not be used through PayPal's development sandbox.

Hi - you are exactly right. I thought I had submitted my edit to my first post earlier, but apparently it didn't save when the site went down.

Thanks for your help!
