First the revision gets saved and made active by node module and only later gets the node vid reset to the original. The window is very small but exists.

Christopher Bradford works on this as part of his GSoC work. The results are here http://svn.deviantsolutions.net/gsoc09/revision_fu.module its not yet complete but very promising. There is quite some gymnastics involved to make this part right.
