I'm just about ready to start selling items through my Drupal site, but wanted to first get a feel for what types of shopping cart systems fellow Drupal users are using.

So, please feel free to plug your website and share what specific shopping cart modules or 3rd party apps you are using to handle your orders and checkout.

I would say Ubercart...there's so much scope for development - its ideal! I'm using it on a site that is going live soon, www.ecoshopgti.com I've not gone too far into customising the layout etc as I've not needed to based on the clients needs, but ive seen great things built. Have a look at www.ubercart.org for a better explanation etc...

My experience has been quite different with UC and e-commerce, both these options are very resource hungry and keep generating error 500 on all my shared hosting accounts. I am still looking for a good shopping cart option to port www.angelav.com to drupal any help or suggestions from the drupal community is most welcome.

I love all the functionality of UC and EC, and each have their strengths but I was quite frustrated as I was not able to use neither of these excellent modules with the panels and the domain modules enabled, (Imagine I also need the gallery module!) I then started experimenting with multi-site setups and I have solved my problem by disabling modules that I do not require in the subsites.
