We use the default "archive" view to display a block in the right column of our webpage. We've noticed that the summary page you get when clicking on a month with all the teasers for nodes from a specific month doesn't have the "Read more" link and some do. Specifically only months in 2009 have "Read more" links. All 2008 archive listings do not. Anyone know what could be causing this? I'm using Drupal 6.11 with Views 6.x-2.5.

the Readmore link is only displayed when the full text is longer as the teaser text.

is this true for your texts?

Yes, all the texts are longer than the teaser, yet none of the Read more links show up for 2008 content.

I am still having this issue and haven't been able to find a solution. Inexplicably Views just does not show the "Read more" link for archives in 2008.
