NoFollow not being added to URL Filter Created Links

JeremyL - May 1, 2009 - 15:42

With my comments, I have no html allowed but I have it so the URL filter turns URLs into links. Allowing actual html href tags seems to encourage spammers trying to get anchor text links. I also have the NoFollow Spam Link Deterant feature turned on and it works for homepage links in comments but not for the links created by the URL Filter. How do I get links created by the URL filter to have the NoFollow attribute?

Right now my filters are setup in this order:
HTML Filter
URL Filter
Line break Converter
HTML Corrector

I tried moving the URL filter before the HTML filter hoping that would add the nofollow, but then that strips out the whole link the URL filter created.

Any ideas? Is this a bug? Shouldn't the URL filter add the NoFollow link since I have that option turned on?

Is there really no fix for

Is there really no fix for this? Seems like a glarring hole in how Drupal ads NoFollows to comments.

I was looking for it too

JeremyL,

I was looking for the similar solution as a part of the comment spam protection too.
After spending a few hours here, I ended up with making a very small and simple module by myself which adds rel="nofollow" to all anchor tags used in any comments. It seems to be working OK for me.

I can send it to you if you would like to try since I can not upload any files here.
