uploading Word documents to Drupal

hello,

i'm an ASP programmer who is new to the Drupal environment. We have a need to upload a few hundred Word documents, identify keywords (for the search engine) and relevant menus that the documents pertain to.

However, when I look at the Drupal page for adding content, it seems like our project is going to take a lot longer than is desirable. The first step is to convert the Word doc to RTF. Then copy the file into the RTF editor. Then look through the document, finding the keywords. Then choose the menus.

Each document takes about 10-15 minutes to process.

Does Drupal have a module that can trim some of the time involved in doing this? Alternatively, does anyone have experience doing something similiar that can recommend some time-saving tips?

thanks,

Do you need to have the word documents become pages or can they just be attachments?

In that case the only module I know of that may help is the http://drupal.org/project/word2web module-- but I've never tried it. Post back if you try it out.
