Issue Summary
Any chance on implementing a javascript URL option like you already have for the Button image url? This could be useful for organizations that want to maintain the AddThis javascript locally for security or policy requirements.

This could be useful for many users. We have also had some discussions on caching the JS so that Drupal could aggregate it. I would like to add support for both of these in the future. Patches are welcome as usual.

The Google Analytics module has an option to download the JS from Google to store locally. Perhaps it could prove profitable to look at what they've done?

This feature request will be implemented in version 3.0 using similar approach as Google Analytics module uses. Thanks Freso! See #735688: AddThis 3.0 dev candidate.

Another module that does local caching of a JS file for analytics is the Piwik module http://drupal.org/project/piwik. Looking forward to this option!
