My site has about 3,000 nodes which utilize FlashField. Will updating to the new FileField break everything?

Updating filefield - I'm not sure.

I don't think so, since FileField has an upgrade routine in it, but I've not tried it for sure.

Take a backup first!

Just re-read your post - if you mean upgrading to the new integrated FlashField then that will break your content. There isn't an upgrade route yet.

Just upgrading the FileField module should be ok.

If your site is working then you might want to wait until the work on the new FlashField is finished and then migrate things in one go.

In either case - BACKUP FIRST!
