I would like to replace all item texts in a menu with different images in css. The problem is that text of any item need special font which I am able to set through css but everybody will see standard fonts. And also I want that image to be clickable. Just replacing text with an image but with the same functionality.

So if I'm understanding your problem right, you are looking for custom fonts for everyone to see overtop of your images you place in the css?

If so this looks like it might be your best bet...

The new 6.x-2.x branch of the Signwriter module has good menu support.
