Basically for any field or text area and theme region How to set minimum and maximum allowable characters
This should be in the administrator's choice.
Example - User Name - Min 4 chars Max 40 chars For side blocks : truncate long names at _ _ chars
Surprising this has not been worked out so far.
Is no problem for every field created with cck. You can set a value at the field's setting page.
It seems that the minimum lenght only can be set for the body field at the content type page.
A solution for this would be interesting.
