Items don't scroll completely out of Carousel container

I've completed functionality & theming for my carousel to fit the requirements & design of my site, but I'm having some issues trying to set the 'distance' the carousel scrolls upon clicking either the previous or next button. Currently, when I click 'next' or 'submit' my carousel scrolls... but not far enough... leaving behind about half of the previous item along the left/right hand edge. So basically, my carousel is scrolling, but not scrolling far enough - if that makes sense.

Ideally, with each 'next'/'previous' click the first/last item should scroll and disappear entirely from view.

I've tried adjusting widths, looking in the js file, etc... but can't seem to figure out how to set this width. If anyone could point to me the correct CSS selector or javascript line that'd be great. Or maybe I'm going about this all wrong. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
