Thanks for the great module and the much needed update.
I guess much refined control of subsc type based on content type came with the recent update. The subscription type "author and content type" is indeed very useful, and I tried to use it for Blog entry content type in my site, but to no avail.
I first enable the UI option from notification settings (ss1.png); then with content subscription settings at "Set up for each content type", I edit the Blog entry content to show the 3 types of subscriptions on full node and teaser (ss2.png). But only Content Type and Author subscriptions are available, not the 3rd one (ss3.png).
Does anyone else have the same issue? Or am I missing a step in the configuration?
thanks
sly

jose reyero commentedReview all the tabs for Notifications settings. There are some more, and also the permissions that could produce that result.

sly5 commentedHi Jose,
I checked (and attached a screeeshot) of the permissions. There is actually no permissions for "content AND author type". Might that be a problem?
At any rate, I will cross/double/triple check my settings, and test this at a fresh drupal installation. Will let you know how it goes.
In the meantime, please if you or anybody can reproduce this problem send out a message; save me the trouble :)
thanks for the great module

itsnotme commentedI can confirm this bug.
Content type and author does show up in the admin Notification settings, but does NOT show up for
* in the node display - link to "content type and author" is simply missing
* in the permissions - there is no permission for "content type and author"
I use organic groups, it that helps. And this is a bad bug for me, because this setting would be the only one to make blog subscription easy in my project.
Other than that, Notifications is a great module :) Thanks!

mamarley commentedI have the same issue as well. It is not fixed in the latest dev version.
origo commentedSame here. I'm not using OG.
I have enabled everything I can find. When looking at a user's profile, I see different subscription links depending on if I'm logged in as admin or as a normal user. For the normal user, all "type and author" subscription links are missing:
As admin:
Subscriptions
* Subscribe to: All posts by Testing
* Subscribe to: Blog entry posts by Testing
* Subscribe to: Forum topic posts by Testing
* Subscribe to: Page posts by Testing
* Subscribe to: Story posts by Testing
As normal user:

When looking at a node, it seems the subscription links are the same for both admin and normal user. But the "type and author" link is missing (if it's supposed to be there).

LuisRx commentedI'm experiencing the same issue but you can create/add Author and Content subscriptions from your user account/Notifications screen if the Create option is enabled under admin/messaging/notifications/ui.
I'm using atrium though so ymmv but I hope this helps.

joshuajabbour commentedattached is a patch to re-enable "Content type by author" notifications in the 4.x branch.
@jose is there an intentional reason this is built-in but not enabled, or just an oversight?
jose reyero commentedYes, just an oversight. Thanks for the patch

nodecode commentedI'm experiencing this same issue in the 6.x-2.3 version as well... should I continue this thread or start a new one?
nodecode commentedPardon my hijacking this thread, but this is still an issue with 6.x-2.3. Originally this thread pertained to the 6.x-2.x branch. Can/will that patch be applied to this branch as well?
thanks
