I've created a site with a calendar view, but I want that view to only show Date nodes, not Blogs, Stories, Pages, etc. So I set the filter to "Node Type: Date" but it still shows all nodes, not just dates. I even tried, "Node Type not in Blog, etc.," leaving only Date unchecked, and still no dice.
What am I doing wrong?

If you edit the view and do a preview the generated SQL may hold a clue.

The behavior and the sql do not match up. The sql is a little strange in that it checks the type twice.
So what version of PHP and mySQL are you using?
What are the versions of views, data and calendar modules?
And can you export the view and post here?

I only see a date filter
I only see a date filter and a filter on status. You need a filter on 'Node: type' if you want to restrict which content types are shown. You would also want to change the field used by the date filter.

You want to change the argument instead of the filter. The argument should show an object with a custom date field you created for creating calendar events. That sounds like what your looking for. That is also what my calendar won't do right now.
After an update my calendar only works with the date: node updated argument that is in the calendar view by default. I use our calendars for my school district and its frustrating that they just break.
