Issue Summary

I think role-based titles as an option would be a useful enhancement. Right now we're using Badges mod to accomplish that, but I'm not sure we want icons long-term.
This would be much easier to administrate that manually assigning titles to folks.

I'm working on this at the moment as I get time.

I've done a large part of it but it's a fairly big change so I still have a little to go.

This would be a great feature, subscribing

I should be able to get back to finishing this pretty soon. Hopefully in the next couple of days. I haven't got too much more to do.

Here is my patch for this. It turned out to be a fairly large patch so I went through and did a bit of an overhaul as well.
The patch does the following:
* Update module to make titles role based
* Separated admin pages out to user_titles.admin.inc
* Updated comments to be more useful
* Some drupal coding standards fixes
* Changed all handling of titles to objects instead of arrays
* Separated userpoints functionality out into contrib module
* Added variable deletion to the install file hook_uninstall
* Update README.txt

After patching you will have to run update.php
The update will not affect any titles you previously set up.
If you were using userpoints as the points scheme you will need to enable the new user titles userpoints module.
Full instructions are in the README.txt

I have tested upgrading from previous D6 versions but not from D5. Should be fine though.

Please test it and let me know if there is anything wrong.

The patch applies to 6.x-1.x-dev

@rooby: i'm using the beta2 release. can you make your patch working with this version ?

#11

I would say it is easier for you to download 6.x-1.x-dev that it is for me to repatch.

I think I will commit these new patches to 6.x-1.x-dev so people can just download that and test it without having to patch.
Or maybe even do a beta3 release to get more people testing.
