First off, I am not the developer, I am the designer and have full admin rights... but need to get some feedback from a Drupal Guru. If someone out there can help me here, great, THANK YOU!! or if you can refer me to someone who can I'll be hugely grateful.
My developer quit on me after getting overwhelmed with other jobs, so I have a new guy who is new to Drupal. We have gotten a good way along, but are experiencing some difficulty in a few areas.
1) the site seems to load slowly, its acting buggy and I and a savvy developer friend think it may be some querying errors of some sort, how can i locate these-does anything seem to stick out to anyone that might cause this?
2) a flash layer which allows a lotus to open to a heart to open with quotes is doing three things wrong, a) it layers wrong, not allowing links under it to open (non flash links), and b) loads it's quotes VERY slowly, & c)an example of a photo gallery grid of photos is pushed below the flash heart area when built.
Anyone who could possibly look this site over and tell me where I need to go, or what I need to do to improve it would be awesome... I've been at this site for five months, three of which were lost to a vanishing developer. :(
Site is located at http://loveisachoice.com/dev but the video load is not complete so to get to the menu and the lotus opening to a heart go to http://loveisachoice.com/dev/what-we-offer/about/about-living-love
Thanks for any guidance at all everyone!

1) to see querries , use the devel.module
Where?
Where do i find that, is it a plugin, or part of the stock Drupal build?

drupal.org/project/devel

That flash layer is wrong in many ways - but simply - if you are going to layer a huge flash over your site, yes it will obscure the HTML links and bahaviours underneath it. The solution is - don't do that then.
You CAN - if you have the Flash Skills - have a small flash trigger area that creates a larger flash area on-the-fly -like pageear solved that problem. It's not a Drupal thing, it's something you should get a Flash designer to help with.
Your quotes http://loveisachoice.com/dev/quote.xml do indeed load incredibly slowly. Can't guess what the bottlenecks could be without knowing how it was built.
Get the devel.module and turn on query logging. The results might be gibberish to a non-developer, but you may see some lines highlighted in red that provide clues.

speed
I would bet that part of the speed problem is that you are on a shared host plan. I also agree with the previous notes that you should re-think some of the Flash design and bend to what is practical on a web site. Either that or create and all-Flash site if that is what you want.
A list of some of the Drupal sites I have designed and/or developed can be viewed at motioncity.com
But.....
what confuses me is that the flash did work at one point, so that should mean it's possible, yes?
theoretically
You can - with Flash and javascript skills.
There's no short answer unless you can understand everything that's been done so far, and can extend that into developing new bits on the cutting edge.
Examples are out there to learn from, but there is no point-and-click solution for all cases. Copy from examples, adjust to suit your actual requirements, and theme so far.

need much more information
need much more information and study, then I can tell u what's wrong and how to fix it.
1. slow :
u may read the log to see if there's something wrong.
2. flash :
with knowing what u want the your flash to do, I cant say if it is functioning good.
3. 3 out of 5
if u think 60% of your development time was wasted...u may need a qualified project manager to manage/lead the project.
do u have a budget for a prof?
Good day.
Thanks!
Thank you all for your great comments, i'll be able to look them over and see what I can find out over the next few days. Thanks again for your input...
