How to apply delay also on parent item?

Issue Summary

I have a 2 level navigation. On mouseover the parent items background gets red as its subemenus background is red too. When leaving the nice-menu area the parent item background gets immediately white but the submenu stays with its red background.

What I need is the same delay applying on the hiding of the submenu and the change of its parents background. Any suggestions?
