Taxonomy choices lost when editting nodes

Whenever I edit a node, the taxonomy dropdowns all default back to blank. Tested with HEAD on a couple of machines with the same result.

I'm not all that familiar with taxonomy.module, but I had a look around and it appears that an array is being put into the dropdown's #default_value.
