Description
Please could you create the necessary stuff for a Mongolian translation.

#1
Drupal CMS needs official Mongolian translation. Someone please create a translation template.
#2
I'd love to add a mongolian translation, but somebody has to do it first....
#3
Well, how much time does it take normally to translate from English to another language? We are quite swamped with work at the moment, but maybe we can consider taking on this depending on the benefits and costs.

I don't know how long it takes, but I guess that a single translator would need about a week to translate most of the user-visible texts if statring from scratch.
If you can get some other project's translatins and use them to get suggestions for common terms, you may be faster.
If you decide to try this, please apply for a cvs account.

hi,
thanks for the discussions and comments. We are interested to start the localization of Drupal and there are selected modules we will start translating. If I am not mistaken there are 2 ways to do the translation 1. Translating the .PO files and 2. Using CVS account to translate directly on localization server. Is there anyway I get the .PO files as our team is used to working with .PO file. Also where do i apply for CVS account?
thanks,

hi,
Got the .pot files for standard Drupal package. Started translating them using POEDIT program. Applied for CVS account. Submitted translation of General.pot file in the form of .PO file. Hope some admin/developer can make us the maintainer for MN translation of Drupal since we will complete translating the standard package plus some selected modules.
thanks.

Please find attached a zip file of the translated PO files into Mongolian. How do I go about getting these converted into a language pack?
Thanks
Martin

I have uploaded the translations to the localization server. They appear as suggestions now, so I guess someone has to approve them.
What is the next stage for this? How do I get an actual translation file to load into drupal so that it appears in Mongolian?

Dear Martin,
thanks for your contribution towards localization of Drupal to Mongolian language. The suggestions will be reviewed soon. In the meantime you may further add more suggestions.
PS: I wonder how you translate them. As your name suggests you are not Mongolian.

The translation is being done by some of my team members in Mongolia who are part of my company's project implementation team.
I cannot take any credit for the actual translation myself. :)
