I'd like to make the "Post to Twitter" check box default to unchecked (or even better select which content types are automatically checked). That way my users can decided if this is something they would like to post to twitter. We have a lot of new content up everyday and not everything is tweet worthy.

Is this something I can change in the settings or somewhere else?

If it is not available I'd like to submit it as a feature request. Sorry if this is posted elsewhere but I didn't find anything. Any help would be great.

Yes this is a very necessary feature. This is related with #334055: How to hide the "Post to twitter" drop-down area.

These settings should be hideable and globally controllable.

Hi

I would like to have the same control, however for a different reason. It seem that when I post content from WLW (via xml-rpc), the new post tweet doesn't go out. If I go edit the node, the checkbox is disabled.

However, as is noted in this issue, the checkbox is enabled by default if you're creating content via the web.

Thanks!

I don't think that it is to complicated to achieve but it is absolutly above my very, very inferior skills in this area. As an inspiration to anybody who might want to tackle this, please have a look at how the flag module handels this. Attached is a screenshot of the workflow settings of a content type. Flag provides a setting to choose the initial state. Can't this simply be "copied"?
