I am wondering whether it is possible or not to override the cookie handling via a module.
My point is, Drupal (at least up to 6.11) always asks anonymous clients to send cookies, which especially waste the link bandwidth on both the clients and the server. And that also makes the usage of reverse proxy inefficient. I can override that on my Lighttpd and Varnish for static files. But not on all html pages even on the pages which I know cookie is not required.
There is actually a patch for this on http://drupal.org/node/201122, but it seems that it will not go to the main Drupal 6 core.
Maybe as a start, we could perhaps implement a mechanism to disable cookie on the nodes that we know cookie is not required. The same mechanisms like to enable Javascript or Block only on some nodes.
I would really appreciate any hint on this. Thanks a lot in advance.

Nobody cares about the cost of cookie?
Maybe the article on http://blog.tinycdn.com/2009/01/what-does-a-cookie-cost, would open your eyes.
