That's like asking "do you know a good replacement for a Volkswagen"? Sometimes a bike is good replacement, sometimes you need a plane. I can't answer your question if you don't tell us what you're looking for and why Panels doesn't suit your needs.

Well my friend, I loved the module when it first came out and until version 2, but the new UI for version 3 sucks.

OK, I see. Well I'm afraid that there isn't a module with similar functionality but with a different interface. If you haven't done so already, please suggest UI improvements in the issue queue, so the developers can incorporate your feedback in the next version.
