Existing account. I am administrator. I have permission to use alternate login.
Filled in alternate login textfield, clicked submit and received this message: The e-mail address (xxxxxxxx) is already registered. Have you forgotten your password?
It will not let me save.

Thoughts?

More info.... I created a new account and did the same exact thing and I was able to create the alternate login. I also made the new account the administrator status and was able to change the alternate login again.

So it appears that this is a problem with my username. Which of course makes the issue very hard to track down. I am user number 2. We have progresses from Drupal 4.3 on up to most current version of 5. Perhaps there is a database issue? Ever run into this before? Any suggestions on how I might track down this problem?

that error message is not coming from alt login -- it most likely is coming from core. you may want to try your question in the forums, it's out of scope for this issue queue.
